Exploring the area around Colorado Springs

DAY 1

Day one in Colorado Springs starts with immediate access to iconic red rock formations at Garden of the Gods. From there, either take the scenic drive up Pikes Peak for high-elevation views, or head into the forested climb to Devils Head Lookout for a quieter summit experience. It’s a high-contrast opening day, choose your adventure; towering sandstone, alpine elevation, and sweeping Front Range panoramas.

DAY 2

Day two expands on the choose your own adventure theme with some of Colorado’s most diverse landscapes from Colorado Springs. Head south to Great Sand Dunes National Park for sand boarding down massive dunes, or pair it with a short hike to Zapata Falls tucked into a narrow canyon. For a more traditional mountain day, shift west to the Sawatch Range and summit Mount Princeton for hot springs, alpine terrain, and big elevation gain.

DAY 3

Day three in Colorado Springs finishes the trip with high-adrenaline options across the Front Range. Drop into whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River for fast-moving rapids and canyon scenery, or take on the exposed cables and ladders of the Royal Gorge Via Ferrata above the Arkansas River. For a land-based endurance challenge, the Manitou Incline delivers a relentless climb and a strong final test to close the itinerary.
